Equine Partners Connecting With At-Risk Youth

In the fall of 2021, we received word that we had lost our facility lease in SE Fort Collins. Through no fault of ours, we were required to move our horses, equipment and supplies by the end of the year. While this was unexpected and a daunting task, it was made easier by the amazing support of our loyal ranch friends and donors. While we have not yet found our new home, thankfully, we were able to find several boarding locations within minutes of one another to place the horses and even continue our programs.

One such facility is owned by a friend of the ranch who offered us a barn for our herd of four seniors. Of the four seniors, three are schoolmaster lesson horses who have participated in our equine assisted learning programs and horsemanship lessons for our junior volunteers and at-risk youth. Cisco, Sven and Rajah have been dependable equine partners for our kids and we were so pleased that they would be able to continue in their much needed positions of friend and teacher to our youth. An added benefit is that our friend who owns this property is also a professional riding instructor who is providing riding lessons on our beloved schoolmasters for our youth at a discounted rate!

Additionally, our beloved Veterinarian has generously offered to allow us to conduct our annual Rescue Ranch Bible Camp on his property this summer. Beginning in June, we will welcome 25+ kids ages 5-12 to Rescue Ranch to learn the story of a rescued horse and redemption. While we are hopeful to find our new home, we are so glad to have such loyal friends supporting our mission of providing a sanctuary for kids and horses.

Our costs continue as we are paying board at each location and still paying for hay and feed for most of our horses. The horse property inventory is very low in our area of northern Colorado and prices are high. Yet we maintain the hope that as we continue our search for a permanent home, we will find just what we are looking for. In the meanwhile, we are so thankful to our supporters for helping us through this transition and continuing to allow us to carry out our mission of providing a sanctuary for kids and horses.

We would love your continuing support to help broken horses heal broken kids!
