Afterschool Program for Children at Risk

During the summer months we organized a reading club for the children. We read many short stories and fairy tales. We helped them analyze the texts and answer questions about them. We worked with them on a variety of language tasks and practiced solving tests that were difficult for them.
We organized cultural and educational tours, during which they learned more about the animals, nature, the city and the history of Bulgaria. We invited them to the colorful art studios where we showed them different painting techniques.
For two children with more serious language difficulties, we created a special program with exercises.
We are currently planning the program for the new school year.

The children are currently preparing for the final exams for this school year.

In the last few months we have provided intensive one-to-one support to children who have special educational needs. They usually have difficulty understanding complex curriculum content but do not receive enough support at school. Without extra activities there is a serious risk that they will drop out of school.

We work hard to adapt the curriculum content to make it understandable for them.

We are also planning the programme for the summer. During the holidays we will organise various creative workshops and, outdoor activities during which the children learn new skills and have fun.
