Dear Friends and Supporters,
Since earning our permanent spot on GlobalGiving, we've made a lot of progress towards establishing the Youth Voice Lab. On Sunday, October 28, we had our first meeting with our Design Team - a diverse cohort of youth who will help us research the needs and interests of Bhutanese youth, set up the space, and design programmes. Click here to read the minutes of the meeting. (User testimonies attached)
On Wednesday, October 31, we met with leaders at the Youth Development Fund (YDF) to confer about the idea of the lab. After discussing terms and conditions, they have kindly agreed to hand over a space (the former squash court!) to BCMD for the lab. We will seek out an auspicious date to sign the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), after which we will take over and begin programmes. Design of the space is already underway!
We met with the Design Team to assess the space on Sunday, November 4. We are also continuing to fundraise, seek in-kind contributions, and working towards partnerships with media and private sector organizations. Our friends in Singapore at the Raffles Institution have already contributed 8 cameras and raised nearly Nu 20,000. Thanks, friends!
