Youth Talents for the Digital Future

June 12, 2024 was a great summary of the year-long work of young volunteers.

On that day, we organized the Volunteering Film Festival “Volunteering – that’s what MOVIE is about”, which was attended by more than 150 young people and their teachers from 10 elementary schools in our region.

Some had to travel almost 200 kilometers to get to the Festival!

When organizing the event, we did not expect such emotions! Young volunteers on the big stage talked about their volunteer actions and their motivations for doing something for others. Each group prepared for a short public speech, presenting the group's achievements, successes and difficult moments. Most of these kids were performing for the first time in front of such a large audience - many young people's voices trembled with emotion. It's very important for us that they get used to such situations, so that in the future they can cope with stage fright during public speaking.

We watched the videos prepared by young people. The videos showed volunteerism as seen through the eyes of young people and talked about their social actions. We were very impressed by the skills that the young people acquired during the film workshops. It gave the young people a lot of self-confidence and great reason to be proud. On stage, they emotionally thanked their school counselors and the Windmills of Masuria team for the opportunity to experience such an adventure that will stay with them for a long time. 

We also announced the results of the gamification we have been conducting all school year among volunteer groups to recognize the efforts of the various volunteer groups. Emotions reached a zenith when the results were announced! We financially rewarded each group, differentiating the value of the prize according to the points earned. Youth volunteer groups are expected to use these rewards as a team to celebrate together.

An important experience for the young people was a performance of Arek - a young man who once, as a young volunteer, started playing with music and operating the sound system at local rural events, and today is not only a radio journalist, but also a renowned DJ. As a young amateur with a great passion for music, he received help from us to purchase a sound mixer. Over time, he developed his passion for music to make music not only a hobby, but also a source of income. Because there is nothing more enjoyable in life than doing what you love and getting paid for it.

His story showed that anyone can make their dreams come true and it is worth pursuing. It is also worth knowing who a young person can rely on and who can support the realization of his/her dreams.

Thank you for your support, which made it possible to fund this event! Starting in September, we will begin more activities with young volunteers and we ask you very much for your continued support to give young people a chance to safely enter adulthood.

Dzien pelen cudownych emocji

12 czerwca 2024 byl wspanialym podsumowaniem calorocznej pracy mlodych wolontariuszy.

Tego dnia zorganizowalismy Festiwal Filmików o Wolontariacie „Wolontariat – o tym sie MOVIE”, w którym uczestniczylo ponad 150 mlodych ludzi i ich opiekunów z 10 szkól podstawowych z naszego regionu. Niektórzy musieli pokonac prawie 200 km, aby dotrzec na Festiwal!

Organizujac wydarzenie, nie spodziewalismy sie az takich emocji! Mlodzi wolontariusze na duzej scenie opowiadali o swoich akcjach wolontariackich i motywacjach do dzialan na rzecz innych. Kazda grupa przygotowala sie do krótkiego wystapienia publicznego, prezentujacego dokonania grupy, sukcesy i trudne momenty. Wiekszosc z tych dzieciaków wystepowala po raz pierwszy przed tak duza publicznoscia - wielu mlodym ludziom glos drzal z emocji. To dla nas bardzo wazne, zeby sie oswajali z takimi sytuacjami, aby w przyszlosci radzili sobie z trema podczas wystapien publicznych.

Obejrzelismy filmiki, które przygotowali mlodzi ludzie. Filmiki pokazywaly wolontariat widziany oczami mlodych ludzi i opowiadaly o ich akcjach spolecznych. Jestesmy pod wielkim wrazeniem umiejetnosci, jakie mlodzi ludzi zdobyli podczas warsztatów filmowych. Dalo to mlodym ludziom duzo pewnosci siebie i wielki powód do dumy. Na scenie ze wzruszeniem dziekowali swoim opiekunom szkolnym oraz zespolowi Wiatraków Mazur, za mozliwosc doswiadczania takiej przygody, która zostanie z nimi na dlugo. 

Rozstrzygnelismy tez grywalizacje, gdzie docenilismy wysilki poszczególnych grup wolontariackich. Emocje siegaly zenitu podczas oglaszania wyników! Nagrodzilismy finansowo kazda z grup, róznicujac wartosc nagrody w zaleznosci od uzyskanych punktów. Mlodziezowe grupy wolontariackie maja zespolowo wykorzystac te nagrody na wspólne swietowanie.

Waznym przezyciem dla mlodziezy bylo wystapienie Arka – mlodego czlowieka, który kiedys jako mlody wolontariusz zaczynal od zabawy z muzyka i obsluga naglosnienia na lokalnych wydarzeniach wiejskich, a dzis jest nie tylko dziennikarzem radiowym, ale takze uznanym DJ’em. Jako mlody amator z wielka pasja do muzyki otrzymal od nas pomoc w zakupie miksera dzwieku. Z czasem rozwijal swoje pasje muzyczne, aby muzyka byla nie tylko hobby, ale takze zródlem zarobkowania. Bo nie ma nic przyjemniejszego w zyciu niz robienie tego co sie uwielbia i dostawanie za to pieniedzy.

Jego historia pokazala, ze kazdy moze spelniac swoje marzenia i warto do tego dazyc. Warto tez wiedziec na kim mlody czlowiek moze polegac i kto moze wesprzec realizacje jego marzen.

Dziekujemy za wsparcie, które umozliwilo sfinansowanie tego wydarzenia! Od wrzesnia zaczynamy kolejne dzialania z mlodymi wolontariuszami i prosimy bardzo o dalsze wsparcie, aby dac mlodym szanse bezpiecznego wkraczania w doroslosc.
