YouMeWe dedicated the day to engaging with the scholars, assessing their progress, observing the current developments at the university, and conducting interviews to gain insight into the forthcoming steps in their academic journey.

Manami

  • Current Status: First-year student, completed and passed all tests. Practice yoga in their free time.
  • This Year's Highlight: Attended Ayu's live concerts in Nagoya and Osaka.
  • Most Challenging: Managing money, particularly after her sister spent a lot of money on a crane game.
  • What You Learned the Most: Learned the importance of managing money, especially with friends, and not paying for others up front.
  • Growth and Development: Realized the need to be more responsible with money and its importance in daily life.
  • Expectations for Next Year: If she passes all courses, she plans to continue with selected courses. Her current GPA is 2.69. She also wants to visit her grandfather's grave in Mie.
  • Advice for Other CCF Students: Don't spend all your money just because you have it. It's essential to save and learn how to manage finances.
  • Advice to the CCF: Suggest sending scholarship money in installments for better financial management.
  • Current Financial Status: Has 340,000 yen in savings and earns 40,000-80,000 yen per month from a part-time job, working 4-5 days a week. Previously worked at Mister Donuts.

 

 

Shizuma

  • Current Status: Preparing for an interview at a preschool and planning to graduate soon. Aspires to be a preschool teacher. Financial difficulties arose when paying for school due to a miscalculation and overspending while living in a dorm. School is progressing well, but piano practice is a challenge. Needs to stay focused and manage finances better.
  • Most Challenging: Deciding on a workplace location.
  • What You Learned the Most: Improved in piano, especially finger work, and received helpful advice from preschool teachers.
  • Growth and Development: While not feeling much personal growth, he’s now more comfortable speaking with others, including strangers.
  • Expectations for Next Year: Focused on deciding a work location.
  • Advice for Other CCF Students: It’s important to communicate and interact with people, including adults and foreigners.
  • Advice to the CCF: Enjoyed the bowling event and would like more group activities with prizes, feeling they help build connections.
  • Current Financial Status: Works part-time 3 days a week, earning 60,000-70,000 yen, with some meals provided at work.

 

Rina

  • Current Status: Works part-time 6 days a week, and faces no major issues. Aims to become a handicapped specialist to support children from violent homes, influenced by teachers and personal experiences.
  • This Year's Highlight: Reconnected with her younger brother after he left home, allowing them to spend more time together.
  • Most Challenging: Sought financial and university advice from home staff but didn't receive useful guidance.
  • What You Learned the Most: Became very clear on her future career path.
  • Growth and Development: Realized that personal growth comes from her efforts and hard work.
  • Expectations for Next Year: (No specific information provided)
  • Advice for Other CCF Students: Living alone can feel isolating, so it's important to reach out and talk to others to manage stress.
  • Advice to the CCF: Wants more opportunities for students to meet and interact with one another.
  • Current Financial Status: Works part-time 6 days a week, earning 80,000-140,000. She feels financially confident and has her financial plan.
