7 months have passed since the project started, and we are happy to inform you that we’ve been having English Classes and Microsoft software on a weekly basis thanks to your donations.
The children and teenagers have been actively learning and they have also demonstrated great interest in both programs. A noticeable improvement in confidence and communication skills was noticed from the home coordinator (Fatima) who has been really happy with the donations and programs.
We recently made a trip to a theme park in São Paulo named “Hopi Hari”, where the children enjoyed a hot summer day going on rides. This trip was a reward to all students for doing such a good job at both programs.
Recently, we received 4 new students, and with that, the computer classes became harder to operate due to the small number of laptops available. We currently have 6 laptops and the number of active students increased to 17, so the classes are as effective as we wish they were. Apart from the laptops, we also need microphones and equipment to improve the internet quality in the facility with a wi-fi booster. We would also like to build a student area so all students have a defined space to go to for learning or for doing homework, all students from both homes are currently studying in their dining area, which means that the laptops are studying materials are always kept at a storage room, which creates problems with accessibility and preparing everything for classes. Our primary focus is to raise money or receive these items as donations since they are extremely important to continue giving them the best experience in learning. Teacher Victor who is the YouMeWe home coordinator at Instituto Viva a Vida is currently studying common sense programs and will provide the students with digital training so they can navigate safely on the internet.
