Dear Friend,
Thank you very much for your support to our project helping women who are taking the leadership in implementing agro-reforestation in their villages.The role of women in agro-reforestation cannot be overemphasized and there is a need to encourage and support this. In anticipation for the coming rain we assisted 2 women's associations in raising fruit and timber tree seedlings for their need. The raising of high-quality seedlings is important because this is always the problem in implementing agro-reforestation - that of the lack of high quality seedlings that farmers can grow in their own farms. Seedlings in commercial nurseries are expensive and not easily accessible by poor farmers. We hope to enable 300 women-farmers to grow trees when the rain starts.
