Jade, Katherine, Anissa, Lance, Zaid, and Grace are students from Winona Senior High School who are part of the International Business Internship Program, or IBIP for short. IBIP is a program that combines high school students with community leaders located world wide. We are all new members to the program and enjoy being partnered with an Orphan Care Program in Nigeria to help better their facilities and the lives of the kids there by fundraising here in Winona.
One challenge that our business partner in Nigeria is facing is that their infrastructure is very poor and way too small for the amount of children it is holding. This is a big problem for the Orphan Care center because the children there need a comfortable, safe, and well-built place to learn and live in.
The money raised will 100% go towards building a new orphanage. This new facility will have a large impact on the community. A new orphanage will provide their community with a better facility for the children to go in the future.
If the children have a better living community, they will be able to focus on their studies more and become more educated. By becoming more educated, they will hopefully be able to provide for the community more from an economic standpoint.
