West Java, Indonesia experienced a 5.6-magnitude earthquake on the afternoon of November 21, 2022. Initial reports state that over 260 people have died and hundreds more were injured as a result of the disaster. Several thousand homes have been damaged or destroyed and as many as 58,000 people have been displaced. We have begun initial disaster response efforts in the affected areas and will continue to serve these communities with long-term efforts after the initial emergency response.
The earthquake has caused extensive damage and devastation in the district of Cianjur, West Java. To make matters worse, many of the families affected by this disaster are impoverished and have little to no resources. We are currently on the ground and providing initial emergency assistance and we will also be active during the long-term recovery as well. Your donations will help with immediate emergency needs as well as long-term help for affected families.
Our team is already on the ground and working through local partners in Cianjur to provide immediate emergency assistance, such as food, water, hygiene items, blankets, etc. Additionally, we are a local organization already working in the area and specializing in community development and long-term support for communities impacted by natural disaster. Your gifts will help meet urgent physical needs as well as help families and individuals during the long and difficult road of recovery.
