Good Morning! Since Giving Tuesday of last year, we started growing our weaving program at Imani Collective and we are so grateful for each and every one of you. This project has helped us keep the art of weaving alive in Kenya.
The weaving and wool spinning trades are quickly disappearing from the artisan sector in Kenya, and it is hard to come by experienced workers trained in the craft to help meet the demand.
As you know, in 2019, Imani Collective made strides to close this gap by implementing new wool spinning and weaving training programs. These programs not only helped meet demand and revitalize the weaving industry, but created consistent, restorative work.
We would love your help to finish out this project with GlobalGiving and only have $586 to meet our goal!
Also, we need a bit of help in sharing about our new renovation project for our new weaving workshop! We have quickly grown out of our space and are looking to move our all of our weavers and artisans by October 1st to the new space. By moving to this workshop, it will allow for more dignified jobs to be created and for our overall impact to continue to grow in Kenya. We are so grateful for the transformative work we get to be a part of because of partners like you who walk alongside us daily in this journey. If you would like to give towards to the renovation project, please check it out here.
Thank you for all of your generosity over the years. We are extremely grateful for each and everyone of you.
Sending my love from Kenya,
