Training on Lap Loom

Imani Collective has been able to expand in the last couple of months by adding capacity and training 10 new weavers into our weaving program. Through this project, we have been able to:-

  • Provided salaries for the 10 new trainees
  • Bought 10 Wool Beaters
  • Bought 10 Carders (Brush)
  • Bought 2 Spinner wheels
  • Bought 10 chairs
  • Bought 2 bench ladders and 2 tables.
  • Celebrated over 28 birthdays which included 2 out of the 10 new weavers
  • Provided 10 sessions of RISE ( Character building classes) which has helped pour into the new trainees with topics to build good work ethics and morals
  • Provided childcare for about 3 more kids into the childcare program.
  • Provided over 60 nutritious meals via our food program

This expansion through your support, has created a brighter future for these 10 trained artisans, caring for them holistically and in the process, being able to preserve the art of weaving in Kenya.

Thank you for your generous support.

Best Regards,
