Bring water to health clinic, 500 villagers in CAR

Thank you again for donating to this water infrastructure project for our maternal and child health center in the Central African Republic (CAR)! I'm pleased to report that all the water infrastructure work was successfully completed in February. As a result of this project’s success:

The clinic now has running water in all rooms which is supplied by two 3,000-liter water tanks connected via electric pump to the well.
Each room in the clinic now has a handwashing sink, and additionally, the delivery room and laboratory have a larger sink for other sanitation needs.
The well was dug at a depth of 50 meters where high-quality water is in abundance. Since completion of the well, the more than 500 people living in the village have had access to safe drinking water for the very first time!
We built four new latrines and two showers for patients to use once the health center is open.

We are one step closer to being able to open this maternal and child health clinic - thank you again for your support!

Finished Well and Start of the Water Tower

Thank you again to everyone who donated to this water infrastructure project for our maternal and child health center in the Central African Republic (CAR). I'm happy to report that almost all of the work has been completed, with the remaining finishing touches coming next week.

On November 11th, the team began digging the well and was able to finish the installation of the well infrastructure and pump on November 21st. The well was dug at a depth of 50 meters where high-quality water is in abundance. Upon finishing the well, the nearby villagers came to the health center to taste the water and were pleased by how good it tastes!

The construction team arrived at the health center on the 21st to begin work on the infrastructure upgrades needed before our health activities can start. The team finished the water tower on December 5th, and next week we will be able to mount the two 3000 liter water tanks. On December 2nd, the plumber and his team arrived at the health center and over the following three days installed the indoor plumbing, including five handwashing sinks, two larger sinks, pipes, and a drainage pit. The team also installed the connections for the water tanks to link with the well's pump and the health center, and those will be secured when the water tanks have been mounted.
