Build 2 water wells for 500 villagers in Ethiopia

Building upon the amazing progress achieved in our 2-year project in Sidama Region mentioned in our previous report, we are thrilled to announce the successful implementation of another clean water initiative in a different woreda within the region. This project has brought clean water to over 800 individuals, significantly improving their health and well-being.

However, our work extends beyond Sidama. We are embarking on a momentous return to our roots – the Tigray Region. As DoW was formed in the Tigray region, this homecoming signifies a deeply personal endeavor and presents an opportunity to serve the very community that nurtured our organization's inception. In the region, we are undertaking a critical water point rehabilitation project, a lifeline for thousands facing severe water scarcity. Five vital water systems, crucial for the community's survival, have fallen into disrepair, cutting off access to clean water to the community. Our project will address this urgent need by installing new hand pumps, rebuilding spring wells, and upgrading the surrounding infrastructure to ensure a sustainable and reliable supply of clean water for years to come.

As we go into 2025, our journey towards 100% clean water access for all of Ethiopia continues with vigor. The projects we implement underscore our unwavering dedication to improving the lives of those in need. By providing access to clean water, we are not only addressing immediate health concerns but also empowering communities with a fundamental resource for growth and development. Clean water is the foundation for improved sanitation, better hygiene, and increased access to education and economic opportunities.
