Waste no more has had some nice exposure in the last month. During the 2019 Curacao innovation awards the project was moninated for all the categories. This on it's own was a huge honor and it was a first in the 21 yeard of history of the innovation awards that a project was nominated in all the categories: Social Innovation, Sustainable Innovation, Business Innovation, Innovation and Public choice award.
We won the public choice award and we also won the business award, which obviously filled us with proud.
The team grew further from 9 teammembers through SOAW to 14.
The first chair made out od recycled HDPE was finished and we printed a lot of unique christmas ornament designs from waste PET which we will be selling as fundraising items.
With the #maketheturtlesmile campaign school children collected 30.573 plastic bottles. These bottles will not pollute the environment and wil not end up in landfills but will be used as resources to produce new products. So we have been making good steps into the direction of a circular economy by raising awareness, great exposure and actual engagement.
Without waste there is no pollution and we definately need to reduce the pollution that ends up in our ocean. Step by step larger companies are also getting involved.
Right now we are actively looking for a new production facility, so that we can scale our operation. So if you have any ideas, please feel free to reach out!
