The Covid 19 pandemic continues to affect many to date, especially in Venezuela, where the vaccination programme has not been close to enough, as there are severe shortages of vaccines.
According to official figures, Venezuela has administered at least 4,000,000 doses of COVID vaccines so far, asumming every person needs 2 doses, that’s enough to have vaccinated about 7% of the country’s population.
To make matters worse the health care system was not fit to respond to a pandemic and is still precarious and not well equiped.
There are no clear directions from the government to hep contain the pandemic. There are no policies or aides to help those affected to work from home or have any form of relief.
Mandatory isolation is close to impossible as the population depends in the informal and day to day forms of income.
Thanks to your generous donations we have been able to continue to carry out our WASH programme, efficiently and effectively.
We have been able to distribute another lot of 47 cylinder water tanks (560L) and 4 big water tanks (5000L) for the proper storage of water to our partners across Venezuela.
We have overseen the distribution and proper assembly of 17 community water filters and 5 ceramic filters to our partners NGO’s, that will aid in the continuation of their programmes during the next 5 years.
We have supervised the correct usage and maintenance of 157 water tanks, 26 community water filters and 91 ceramic filters, since July 2020 that continue to work as an important piece in the implementation of our WASH programme.
During these extra difficult times for the children of Venezuela your help is more important than ever.
The gift of clean water allows soup kitchens, nutritional recovery programmes and medical programmes run by our partners, to continue their operations amidst the pandemic.
Our aim is to expand this much needed programme, so we can continue to bring this vital resource to many more children to Reduce Covid 19 transmission, improve their Health and Wellbeing and reduce poverty and inequality.
