An art camp for 20 children with intellectual disabilities ended on August 13. The children were looked after by the staff and 13 volunteers who had a really difficult task. Some of the children did not speak at all, some of them required 24-hour care. The volunteers accompanied the children while they were painting, making clay, dancing and playing instruments together. They also learned how to take care of nature, helped by a fox mascot named Ibisek.
On August 15th we have started the Little Explorers sports camp for children with physical disabilities. We have 44 children from all over Poland, most of them in wheelchairs. They are accompanied by 18 volunteers (including 5 in wheelchairs). Volunteers lead sports activities (including kayaking, sailing, basketball) and games. They accompany the children during art and journaling classes.
We would like to thank all Donors who helped us finance the participation of the volunteers in the Little Explorers summer camps. Although we did not collect the entire amount on the GlobalGiving platform, we organized a fundraising campaign in Poland and were successful.
