Spring 2024 Report
![]()
Saturday, March 9, was National Hostage Day in the U.S., when the country calls attention to Americans held all over the world. Eight Americans are still held in Gaza, along with 126 other hostages, 19 of whom are women.
Our fight for a life without violence of any kind, is a global for our shared destiny with all women wherever they are.
In honor of International Women’s Day, we lined the grand staircase in the TLV Fashion Mall in Tel Aviv with quotes from trailblazing women from around the world including Ronit Alkabetz, Simone de Beauvoir, Audre Lorde, Emma Goldman, Anne Frank, Rosa Parks, Michelle Obama, and more.
We remind our students every day how important it is to make their voices heard despite the physical, sexual and economic violence they endure, past and present, as well as the trauma and anxieties which accompany them. We learned from great women that violence against women is not a personal problem, it is a societal problem and because of that, we are all affected by it, and we all must fight against it.
We are happy to report that we have succesfully duplicated our revolutionary model and have officially opened our Haifa branch! We are currently training staff and volunteers, doing intake meetings and holding meals and social programming for students. Over the course of 2024, we plan to reach approximately 40 students in our first year of operations there.
Her Academy Merchandise Launch
In partnership with :story, Her Academy has launched herstory®, a collection designed by Dafna Bloch, as a tribute to eight revolutionary women trailblazers, who like Her Academy’s students, changed their lives, and their realities against all odds, out of a desire to create a new path for themselves.
The collection is sold at Story's flagship store at Dizingoff Square 94 Tel Aviv-Yafo and online, with all profits going to Her Academy.
Join us in breaking barriers, creating new possibilities and transforming the lives of hundreds of Her Academy's students.
