Dream Learn Work is a Norwegian NGO and our mission is to give Brazilian young adults from less developed areas a fighting chance for a better future, through access to quality education and decent employment opportunities.
Introduction
Dear friends of Dream Learn Work, this is our report for the 1st Semester of 2023.
January and February
At the beginning of the year, we received great news, that one of our students who went through our educational path, managed to buy his own house in Barra da Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro. Education and Art were the keys for him to evolve and achieve his goals. In February, our young Yuri completed his Professional Cook Course with a lot of focus and desire to be in the gastronomic sector making his dreams come true.
March and April
Our young Leonardo, always very enthusiastic and attentive, got an opportunity to enter the job market in the field of his Foreign Trade Studies as an Intern at one of our Company´s Partners and Investors - Yinson.
During April, DLW participated in a very important event held by NBCC (Norwegian Brazilian Chamber of Commerce) that had the topic "Practices and Challenges in Gender Equity and Inclusion" where our Manager Yasmim was one of the speakers and was able to tell how DLW has directly impacted the lives of young participantes through our program.
Our young Andressa completed her Administration Technician Course, wich due to the Covid-19 had to be extended, with great joy she has shared with us about her journey until completing the course.
May and June
In May DLW participated in the Good Deeds Fair Day where we managed to mobilize some of our students and volunteers to join in this fantastic event in favor of the environment. We made a seedling planting activity in the Ecological Park at Maré.
From the 6th to 9th of June DLW were present at Nor Shipping 2023 represented by our Director in Norway, Iris.
Also un June, the Company IKM became a partner of DLW. This partnership developed opportunities to access quality education for twelve new students, eight of them started the FPSO Production Operator Course, two are studying Eletrical Technician and two are studying Mechanical Technician, at Senai Institution in Rio de Janeiro.
