DLW is a Norwegian NGO, and our mission is to give Brazilian young adults, from less developed areas, a fighting chance for a better future, through access to quality education and decent employment opportunities.
Introduction
Dear friend of Dream Learn Work, new features and social actions from our 2nd Semester in 2022. As we all know, still many challenges seeking social justice here in Brazil, that have been increased due to the global pandemic impacts on everyone's lives, but DLW remains solid on our mission with our participants and their families during such adverse times, and believing in the strength and importance of access to quality education and employability options. Thank you all for your continuous support and engagement with our organization. Here are some of our latest updates.
JULY
Technician Course Conclusion
Another DLW'er fgraduated as an administration technician and in the search for more specializations, she is studying Administration at university. 1 year ago, Andressa was starting the young apprentice at Grupo Gera, one of our corporate partners and they are with us in the fight for better employability opportunities for youngsters.
Today we are happier to accompany the personal and professional growth of another DLW participant. Congratulations Andressa, keep up with the success on your way. Continue counting on our support!
AUGUST
Oil Operator Course
BELIEVE IN THE PROCESS! Recently 6 of our youngsters, completed the Oil Operator course at Firjan Senai Sesi, at the Benfica unit in partnership with one of our partners, Yinson.
With a lot of effort and dedication, our participants managed to finish another course focused on professional and personal growth. Combining teamwork and determination, they managed to achieve the goal, which is knowledge and quality education.The students continue to search for more educational and professional skills with a focus on putting them into practice soon in the labor market. Congrats, to all 6 DLW'ers: Yasmin, Leonardo, Rômulo, Karol Alecsander and Cleiton!
SEPTEMBER
DLW GRADUATION CEREMONY
On September 9th, Dream Learn Work carried out its annual graduation ceremony at Kincaid's office, in Rio de Janeiro's downtown.
This year, participants who have finished courses in 2020, 2021 and 2022 celebrated alongside our corporate partners, educational institutions, NGOs, volunteers and friends of DLW. The event was a huge success, with wonderful energy, a beautiful location offered by Kincaid, an incredible buffet breakfast supplied by Salsalito and sponsored by Equinor, and the offering of souvernirs to the participants, which were sponsored by Kincaid and the norwegian bank DNB. The norwegian Vice-consul, Mai Tonheim, spoke to the graduates.
Thank you to all who were with us. Special thanks to our partners Kincaid, Equinor and DNB for their contribution! It is fulfilling to see our youth growing each year and reaching their goals!

OCTOBER
RIO OIL & GAS EVENT
On the week of September 26th, we had the biggest Oil and Gas event in Brazil, and DLW was present every day. We stayed at the Norwegian pavilion, we thank all Team Norway that provided our presence at the fair.
Our youngsters Leonardo, André Filipi, Gisselly and Calebe, worked the 4 days in the pavilion and it was a very good experience for them, they had the opportunity to meet companies, network and learn a little about this area, we thank the entire Innovation Norway team for all the support with our youth and with the DLW.
On the 27th, Yasmim, ou Manager in Brazil, spoke a about our work at the Equinor booth, it was amazing to introduce DLW to everyone there. Special thanks to Equino for all the support and partnership. It was a pleasure to be present at Rio Oil & Gas once again.
NOVEMBER
YINSON EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
Through the partnership with Yinson, 6 of our young people completed the oil operator course. And one of them was our participant Yasmin, who is currently working at Yinson. We appreciate the partnership and for believing in our young people.
”I am delighted to say that I was part of all the acronyms of DLW. From when he made me dream in 2019, when he introduced me to the maritime industry and fell in love, through workshops and visits to companies, to providing me with vast learnings about the maritime and offshore area, helping me with courses," says the DLW'er.
DECEMBER
GASTRONOMIC DREAM GRADUATION
Also this year, one of our participants completed the professional cook course. We are very happy with this achievement of young Maiara, we wish her all the success! Maiara is an Nutrition student at Faculdade Federal Fluminenses and through DLW, graduated as a Professional Pastry Maker from the Gourmet Institute of Itaboraí.
"This confectionery course was a great opportunity that I had through DLW, as it qualified me for the job market as a Confectioner, in addition to giving me the chance to work on my own taking orders for private sweets. I am very grateful to God and to everyone at DLW together with Abrigo Rainha Silvia de Itaboraí, for giving me this great chance to improve professionally, being a path towards a change in my life reality," says the youngster.
