Dear Friends of VHI,
Thanks to your generosity the GlobalGiving website (www.global giving.org) will feature Vision Health International's project Improve Vision Health For 1,000 Hondurans on December 6, 2017.
Taking you back to June, during GlobalGiving's Accelerator Program, it was VHI's goal to raise $5,000 from at least 40 unique donors. Well, thanks to over 70 donations totalling over $10,500 you helped VHI become #14 of the 548 projects participating in that initiative. And as of today, VHI is just $900 shy of our final goal to raise $13,500.
Since March 2016 and on three field programs to La Entrada, Honduras VHI volunteers have provided 2,434 vision screenings, fit or prescribed 2,460 paris of eyeglasses, and performed 221 sight restoring and life altering surgeries for the people of this medically underserved region of Honduras. VHI's work needs to continue in Honduras and thanks to your donations we hope to expand our vision health services to the country over the next several years. Your generosity has gone a long way to ensure that VHI will make a real and lasting difference in the lives of the people we--and you--serve.
On December 6th VHI's project will receive "front and center" attemtion from several hundred GlobalGiving corporate donors, as well as a large worldwide audience of individual philanthropists in the GlobalGiving network. We sincerely hope that VHI can grow its support base as a result of this one-day event. Please consider telling your friends, family and business associates about GlobalGiving and about VHI and its work to Improve Vision Health for 1,000 Hondurans.
Thank you.
