The Corporación Pueblo de los Niños has established a valuable partnership with Ballet Metropolitano de Medellín to offer our youth a unique artistic and educational experience. Through the Boterito Workshops, inspired by the work of Maestro Fernando Botero, and an enriching visit to the Museo de Antioquia, participants explored the intersection of dance, visual arts, and cultural identity.
Boterito Workshops: An Artistic Immersion Boterito, developed by Ballet Metropolitano de Medellín, is a creative interdisciplinary lab combining classical and neoclassical dance with visual arts. Its purpose is to allow young people to interpret and recreate Botero's aesthetic through movement and artistic expression.
Over three days, our youth engaged in:
Classical and neoclassical dance classes, exploring volume, proportion, and movement.
Visual arts workshops, where they created sketches inspired by Botero’s work and developed "boterized hands."
A final session featuring a group presentation and an exhibition of their artistic creations.
Visit to the Museo de Antioquia The participants visited the Museo de Antioquia to appreciate Botero’s masterpieces firsthand, reinforcing their learning experience.
Impact and Reflection This initiative fostered creativity, teamwork, and self-confidence, demonstrating the transformative power of art in young lives. We thank Ballet Metropolitano de Medellín for this opportunity and remain committed to expanding horizons for our youth.
