The Victoria House Foundation (VHF) STEM Robotics coding program focuses on equipping Inner-City students in the DC-Metropolitan area with fundamental skills in coding. In October of 2019, VHF joined forces with the Washington DC chapter of Zeta Phi Beta sorority to work with Bridges public charter school.
In addition, VHF is thrilled to announce that we have teamed up with the National Cathedral School (NCS), to be a part of our STEM Robotics multi-partner collaboration. The NCS believes in a rich liberal arts education inspired with training in STEM skills and an understanding of doing and exploring challenging ideas.
Together with our partners, VHF will be able to provide a robotics-coding program where kids will learn best with an interactive, creative and fun experience! Inner-city schools will benefit from our programmable robots that fulfill exciting different functions. The students will learn the basics of coding languages as they assemble, then program robots to dance, fight, and play sports. From the get-go, kids can explore the robots’ endless functions using easy drag and drop codes and fun training guides, advancing to harder code and builds as their skills grow. As the kids gain proficiency in coding, they will gain confidence in creativity!
The pandemic was a hindrance to our STEM robotics program. Now, as so much of life looks like it did before the pandemic, it is reasonable to wonder if it is over. Nonetheless, VHF STEM Robotics is back! Thank you to all our donors especially stepping up during the COVID-19 pandemic times for making it possible to provide robotics coding to inner-city kids!
