A Loaf of Life in Al-Wahidi Camp: A Family Struggling to Survive

By MUHAMMED DEEBEH | Project leader

Dear Donor,

In Al-Wahidi Camp, Northern Gaza, suffering is evident in every corner, as displaced families struggle to survive in makeshift tents lacking the most basic necessities. Amid this harsh reality, we met Hiyam, Shireen, and Mohammed, three cousins who lost their parents during the recent military assault on Gaza.

After losing her husband, Mohammed’s mother found herself facing an overwhelming responsibility, becoming the sole provider for her son while also helping care for her late brother-in-law’s daughters, Hiyam and Shireen, who now share their modest tent. With no source of income and no support, this family endures unbearable hardship, struggling daily to secure even the simplest meal.

When we handed them a loaf of bread, their eyes reflected deep gratitude—but also an unspoken fear for tomorrow. How will this mother continue to provide for the children under such dire conditions, with no means of survival and an unrelenting blockade?

Thanks to your generosity, we were able to provide bread for this family, easing their suffering for another day. But their struggle is far from over. Without continued support, they will remain trapped in an endless fight against hunger and deprivation.

Your support is not just charity; it is a lifeline for a family on the brink of collapse. Every donation ensures them a meal, and every act of kindness brings them closer to a future with less suffering.

Thank you for your generosity, which gives them the strength to keep going.
