We continue working for our children

By Patricia Lopez | Executive Director

Within the framework of the project “Alianza Comunitaria para la Atención Integral a la Primera Infancia” several activities were developed .

  1. Nacer Aprendiendo en Familia (Born Learning in the Family)

The Born Learning methodology was implemented to strengthen the knowledge, skills, and competencies of mothers, fathers, and caregivers on key topics such as prenatal and postnatal care, early stimulation, nutrition, and nurturing and sensitive parenting. This was achieved by providing education and tools designed to improve parenting practices at home.

  1. Early Stimulation Community Circles

The Early Stimulation Community Circles methodology was implemented by volunteer community leaders. Through support, strengthening, and equipping of community spaces, the use of play was promoted as a key tool for children's psychomotor, cognitive, and socio-emotional development. This participatory and playful methodology included a training process for volunteers, who will be certified as Community Early Childhood Counselors.

  1. AFINIDATA

AFINIDATA, an artificial intelligence-based virtual tutoring platform, was implemented to support mothers and fathers with children aged 0 to 6 years who, due to various factors (access, time, or others), cannot attend in-person training sessions. Through a mobile app and WhatsApp, AFINIDATA offers:

  • Over 1,500 personalized activities based on the child’s age.
  • Weekly reminders with tips and support sessions.
  • Answers to questions through the virtual tutor.
  • Monitoring and reporting on child development progress.
  • The ability to register up to three children per membership.

The implementation of this activity included identifying and selecting participants, training on app usage, and continuous follow-up.

  1. Born Learning in Healthy Environments

This model was implemented in five childcare centers, under a socio-educational approach that recognizes these spaces as key environments for children's health and well-being. Its primary objective is to strengthen caregivers’ abilities to identify, maintain, and improve conditions that promote children's health and well-being.

The model is developed across four key dimensions:

  • Policy advocacy at the central and/or local level.
  • Safe learning environments.
  • Health education focused on essential competencies.
  • Health and nutrition services focused in childcare centers.

For its implementation, diagnostics were conducted, training processes were carried out for administrators, teachers, and caregivers, and support was provided for developing improvement plans.
