My name is Leena and I'll be helping 30 nonprofits in Uganda & Rwanda grow their impact within their communities. I'll be using my risk management experience for social good, and I'm hoping to get your support. While I'll be offered a modest stipend; I'm expected to cover the majority of the cost of this volunteer experience. Any support you contribute will go towards helping me manage daily expenses. No contribution is too small: from sharing my project with your network, to making a donation.
The nonprofit partners are made up of a team of fiercely smart grassroots leaders who understand the issues that need to be tackled within their communities. My role is to work with these leaders to develop strategies to enact their ideas on a larger scale. That is to say, they have the ideas and context, and I will bring the resources to help them expand their vision and goodwill through scaling their fundraising & donor network capacity to funding their initiatives & expanding their outreach.
As a volunteer Field Traveler, I was required to attend a 4 week training program that equipped me with the tools and resources I need to empower these nonprofits and evaluate any roadblocks preventing them from serving their communities. By investing in my field work, I will be able to provide personalized support to 30 nonprofits through on-site visits and one-on-one consultations.
The field work I will be a part of is focused on providing the leaders of these nonprofits with the right tools to develop and maintain a long term growth mindset. These include helping them develop the skills to understand the shifting needs of the communities they serve, to manage donor relationships, and to challenge the status quo by innovating in how they deliver their work and aid.
