Project Report | Sep 28, 2021
THANK YOU! We keep on providing health-care services to Mexicans in need...

By Griselda Fernandez Haddad | Project Leader

This year has been challenging for the medical sector, mainly because of the COVID-19 pandemic, however, at UBGA, we’re still offering quality health-care services at Puebla and other Mexican states, always concerned with touching the heart of the Mexican population with health and love.

Currently, our Mobile Medical Unit is found at the General Hospital of Cholula, at Puebla, México, helping in the realization of the respiratory Triage to COVID-19 infected patients, helping them overcome their fight and completely recover…

Love for Mexico: Free Medical-Care Services

We expect our Free Medical Care Days to impact positively the Mexican population living in highly marginalized areas. Located in vulnerable communities of the Mexican southeast, we provide medical attention without a cost, supplying medicaments, ultrasounds, and health-promotion workshops to encourage healthy-eating, oral hygiene, COVID-19 prevention, while motivating individuals to enjoy a greater quality of life.

The coronavirus outbreak has impacted our lives; therefore, we continue to offer COVID-19 detection tests, joined with constant sanitization of our Medical Units to perform responsibly our Medical Services, always respecting the medical standards stablished at Mexico.

Tabasco and Chiapas are two beautiful Mexican states, filled with big-hearted individuals, who always welcome us in a grateful and loving manner. We have met young boys and girls that transmit their joy and goodwill to us, adolescents, adults, and third-aged persons with a strong sense of help. One example could be María N (assigned name to protect our patient’s privacy), who thanked our visit and commented:

“I’m glad you came, I hope this is not the last time, we need health-care services in our communities, these are hard times and there are a lot of people in need of you”

Our Medical Services have returned tranquility to several Mexican families. Guadalupe N (assigned name to protect our patient’s privacy) is a 56-year-old woman, who commented to us that her life has changed since she visits our Mobile Medical Units, since she feels better, and her sickness has been controlled. She hopes we can keep on visiting her community, given that they don’t have the monetary resources to cover their medical needs.

Transmitting and promoting health is our bigger motor, however, this work wouldn’t be possible without our donors’ help. We know these are challenging times, in which our health is our biggest priority, so, we invite you to keep on taking care of yourselves and families.

Unfortunately, last August, our association suffered from a great loss, Dr. Angel Ochoa, who was an orthopedist and a great ally to our Free Medical-Care Services. He lost his life fighting against COVID-19. We know he’s now resting in peace, leaving a great legacy of love and wisdom. Rest in peace, dear Dr. Ochoa.

Finally, we keep on working for a healthier country, while honoring our beloved ones’ memory, and fighting to help the persons who need us the most, always adapting ourselves to the new reality we are heading into.

With gratitude and love,

Un Buen Grupo de Amigos, A.C.
