Operation Blessing is already helping families in Nagano, Chiba, and Fukushima, whose homes were flooded or damaged by wind following Typhoon Hagabis, Japan's most devastating typhoon in 60 years. Our home cleaning team, will help families dig out mud from their homes, and clean up, and tarp wind damaged roofs, and providing water to areas still shut off from local water supply.
Typhoon Hagibis was a large and powerful tropical cyclone that was considered to be the most devastating typhoon to hit the Kanto region of Japan since Ida in 1958. The typhoon caused 77 rivers to overflow and 10 to break their banks inundating communities with flood waters. Over 8,000 homes were flooded in the Kanto and Tohoku area, and some communities are still without running water and electricity.
Operation Blessing's Cleaning Teams will help families dig out mud left by floodwaters, and clean out their homes, and take soiled furniture and personal effects to the dump. Our team of carpenters will also be helping families to tarp their wind damaged roofs, after winds of up to 180 kph (113 mph) tore through the area.
This project will help families and communities to recover from the devastating affects of the typhoon.
