A COUNTRY ON THE BRINK
It is estimated that it will take at least 10 years to rebuild the houses and apartments that collapsed in Syria one year ago (February 6, 2023). A decade that, in normal conditions, would already be a considerable time, but which becomes even more burdensome in light of the war, the economic embargo and the shortage of raw materials. As a result, much of the rubble from the earthquake lies forgotten, next to that caused by the bombs ten years ago, in a landscape of desolation and suffering.
In recent months, the situation has worsened further due to the escalation of internal conflicts and in neighboring countries, inflation is constantly rising and now 90% of the population survives thanks to humanitarian aid.
REBUILDING HOPE
Over the past year, thanks to your help, we have been able to rebuild and repair 260 houses in the areas of Aleppo, Azizieh, Latakia, Knaye and Yacoubieh. Moreover, around 200 households have returned to using solar panels and water heating systems in their homes.
We'll keep on rebuilding houses and solar panels in the next months. We need your support!
