Dear Supporters and Friends,
We are so excited to see the impact that will happen through the Tumaini Initiative. We have complete faith that this 5-year sewing and tailoring program will transform the lives of many in Kenya. We are currently working on raising funding for phase 1 of this project.
Phase 1 includes renovating our training room and purchasing equipment and materials needed to run year 1. This last month we began painting the new facility, which has already lightened up the space! Our staff is getting more excited about the future.
We have started the application process and received over 150 applications from women in Mombasa and the surrounding areas. During the first year, we will only be accepting 20 women. But before we can begin this program, we will need to secure $200,000 before we start year 1 of the program.
Thank you for your help and support. I hope you can continue supporting us, and please ask your friends and family to contribute : ) This is a big project, but we are excited to return to our roots. Training and empowering women with the skills they need to break the generational cycle of poverty.
With gratitude,
Lacy
