TRUE COLOURS - Creative Nurturing Project For Children

In this quater under reveiw, the kids completed a TRUE COLOURS Project under the Creative Nurturing Program. It took the kids a total of four weeks to complete the craft work. They invested twelve hours to get the craft done by investing three hours weekly.

About 47 kids participated. The craft work was on apron design. We explored "Life by Design" through this practical experience and helped each kid understand that they are the architects of their lives and that each one is responsible for constructing the life they desired to live.

We explained to the kids that the materials used for the project represented talents, gifts and potentials endowed within them. We made them realise that our work as adults was to guide, supervise, and help create structures for positive life outcomes, but it is their responsibilities to put in the efforts.

Life skills such as, " Collaboration, persevarance, commitment, paying attention to details and working with deadlines were pacticalised and lessons were learned. Light refreshments was shared to celebrate their efforts.

The funds available was used to engage only 47 kids out of the 120 kids willing to participate
