Tropical Storm Agaton caused destruction in several municipalities in the province of Leyte and there is a need to support the immediate as well as long-term needs of local residents especially those residing in hard to reach villages. The landslide caused by incessant rains has destroyed several villages burying everything on its wake. After the initial support, we shall provide long-term assistance by means of small livelihoods for target beneficiaries.
Our immediate support of food and hygiene supplies will assuage the conditions of the affected families while our longer term provision of small livelihoods will help ensure the well-being especially of those who are severely affected. We shall prioritize vulnerable women and girls in our assistance.
The immediate needs of affected individuals especially women and girls are responded to and then their long-term needs will be covered thereby ensuring the well-being of local communities affected by the storm. We will train volunteers in the process thereby ensuring resiliency in our effort.
