This project seeks to provide N7 processors for children with cochlear implants and hearing aids for those with hearing loss in Palestine, enabling them to communicate effectively and engage in education and daily life. By addressing this critical need, the initiative supports BASR's mission to foster inclusion and empower children to reach their full potential. It also helps reduce social isolation and promotes a sense of belonging for these children within their communities.
There's an urgent need for N7 processors and hearing aids for children with complete or partial hearing loss, who face significant barriers with communication, education and social participation. Children who receive cochlear implants at BASR must replace their N7 external processors every 5 years to ensure proper functioning. Without replacing the processor, children will not be able to hear again, thus affecting their social participation and psychological well-being negatively.
This project will facilitate the access of children with hearing difficulties to updated processors, ensuring that they can continue to hear, communicate and participate. By replacing N7 processors and supplying hearing aids, the project enables individuals to engage, connect and overcome barriers to inclusion. This support will significantly enhance their quality of life, foster independence, and reduce the isolation and marginalization they face within their communities.
By updating processors and hearing devices, the project will ensure long-term impact on children to enjoy full participation in their society, education, and overall independence in their future. Over time, this will contribute to a more inclusive society, breaking cycles of marginalization and fostering greater acceptance and opportunities for PWDs in Palestine.
