Dear Supporters, Teachers, Students, Parents and Family Members,
I am extremely grateful to you for enabling ODC to accomplish all that was planned for, in 2022. We were able to educate 201 children, employ local teachers and support three scholarship students in our teacher-in-training program. At a time when everyone was called to demonstrate more adaptability and solidarity than ever before, I say thank you to parents, teachers, sponsors, donors, and friends of ODC.
Our target funding of $60,000 has been achieved and so we have decided to deactivate this current project and create a new one for 2023. The 2023 project will enable 200 underprivileged children to continue to receive quality, low-cost English lessons and become proficient in reading, writing, listening and speaking. ODC will have 10 classes, with a maximum of 20 students per class. It expects to have at least 5 qualified teachers, and will continue to train young students to become future teachers. What we experienced in 2022 has made us decide to look for additional funding resources because we want to ensure the long-term impact and sustainability. In 2023 ODC will charge a nominal tuition fees of $20 per semester or $40 per year for each student. However, for those children who come from low-income families, they can apply for an academic scholarship. ODC also plans to raise funds locally and encourage the local communities to participate in our mission.
ODC remains absolutely focused on providing quality English education and ensuring that no child is deprived of this education due to family financial status. I hope that you will continue to support ODC via this link: https://www.globalgiving.org/projects/transforming-cambodia-lifes-through-education/
On behalf of ODC team, I thank you once again and wish you and your family a very happy holiday and a safe and exiting new year.
Sincerely
Chhaiya IM
