Trama is a movement that includes 50 knitters who are reshaping how their work generates value in the textile economy. Though their skills are often featured in campaigns, recognition rarely leads to fair income. Through training, a pilot collection, a digital platform, and a knowledge-sharing space, they're expanding capabilities-advancing betterment, shared learning, and freedom grounded in real opportunities and participation. Trama is an opportunity to *change the way things change*.
The textile sector often showcases sustainability and traceability as signs of progress. But even within these frameworks, structural problems persist. Even companies with certain labels replicate these dynamics. The problem is not intent, but structure. Changing the label does not change the logic. Without changing the patterns that shape the industry no shift is possible. Knitters' talent is real, but the tools and conditions for turning that talent into long-term economic stability are absent
Creating the space for knitters to strengthen their capacities, reconsider their participation, and take an active role in how their work is valued: 1. Facilitate workshops with 50 knitters focused on design interpretation, sustainable material use, and business negotiation. 2. Launch a pilot collection that reflects their technical mastery.3. Develop a digital platform through which they can engage directly with consumers and institutions. 4. Establish a mentorship and knowledge-sharing network
Trama focuses on long-term betterment: real, measurable improvements in how women experience their work, time, income, and recognition. To track this, we are designing new indicators that go beyond revenue to assess well-being and economic autonomy-monitoring how conditions in participants' lives improve through their involvement in the textile economy and identifying which practices expand what is possible for them. This is how new terms of value are defined: through practice, not just labels.
