With the recent suicide crisis in kenyan children especially those from low to middle income households is becoming alarming and heartbreaking to parents and the community. We believe training mothers on children mental health will help reduce this and increase the value of life among children. Parents will know how to support their childrens social and emotional development more especially now/after this pandemic.Children mental health should be prioritized.
Our children are killing themselves. With several reported cases and a country's health system and community that does not satisfy those in need, children are becoming more vulnerable to mental health issues .we are inneed of mothers/care givers who are competent in children mental health care awareness, promotion, identification and referral to secure the future of our country.
The training aims to equip mothers with the appropriate knowledge, skills and attitudes that will enable them to respond to the mental health needs of their children.Using lectures, group exercises, presentations and demonstrations mothers will be able to identify behavioral patterns and changes, learn better communication techniques with their kids and how to support their kids social and emotional development.Mothers will become more aware and mental health of their children will be prioritised.
The project will train 500 mothers equipping them with skills to raise children with a better sense of wellbeing and a higher value of life, securing the health of the next generation.
