At the end of a year like no other we are able to say that BYMT kept its promise at the start of the pandemic to KEEP MAKING MUSIC! Despite the challenges, musically there has been lots to celebrate at BYMT this year. This is as a result of the determination, creativity and hard work of all our students, staff and licensed teachers, with the unwavering support of parents/carers, schools, trustees, alumni, donors and partner organisations.
Throughout the year we received lots of moving accounts of how BYMT activity supported children, young people and adults through this challenging period. We know that music has a positive impact upon our wellbeing and the feedback we received from children at one of our schools, following an 'Inspire' concert performed by our brass teachers, demonstrates this brilliantly:
BYMT is an extended musical family and the support received this year has been truly breathtaking. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT which has made all the difference to us.
A great demonstration of the BYMT extended family was when 300 musicians of all ages came together digitallyin a mass performance of 'Ode to Joy'. Please click on this link to view this fantastic performance:

BYMT is looking to the future with positivity and in 2021/22 our priority will be to encourage as many musicians as possible to participate in BYMT ensembles/groups and holiday courses. In addition to our established ensembles,we will also offer new and exciting opportunities including early years classes, song writing sessions, samba and beginner groups.
We look forward to a successful year of in-person music making from now on!
