We made it!...
...In so many ways. Yes, times have been tough ... BUT ... we have reached our initial GlobalGiving target of $15,000 - a MASSIVE THANK YOU to all of you for your support. We have been able to continue our services throughout lockdown and give financial support to over 80 young musicians who would otherwise not have been able to continue with their music studies. For more than 15 months it was not possible for BYMT to hold 'live' in-person performances. BYMT had gone full ‘Zoom’ ahead! Zoom lessons, meetings and rehearsals were in full swing. With increasing confidence in the use of technology, we persevered on the steep learning curve of digital media and were able to showcase the fantastic work of students through digital performances. There are links on our website to the wonderful efforts of our teachers and pupils – www.bymt.co.uk - or see the amazing ‘Ode to Joy’ on our YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4IbOmqhKtrE
In the summer term, social distancing guidelines were relaxed a little, so we were able to organise outdoor informal performances for all our groups, through good and bad weather!
The 2021-22 academic year has begun and we look forward to welcoming our BYMT family back to the BYMT centre and extending our services though the local community and schools. Our target is to raise $20,000 in the next 12 months so that we can continue to support our young musicians in need. Thank you for your support!
