Timely Care for Early Childhood and Families

We started activities in the Center!
We continued our work accompanying childhoods of the Villa 21-24 neighborhood.

Parenting Circle
In this first quarter of the year, we attend to more than 20 women who are pregnant or going through the first months of maternity. The main problems revolve around preparation for birth and sleeping and eating habits. Since the families that participate in the program do not have enough budget to buy formula milk, it is essential to be able to learn about breastfeeding with our childcare provider, this generates significant relief for the family economy.

Strength Being
We work as a group with 15 women going through gender-based violent situations. The fundamental focus is to accompany women to identify damaging patterns and thus break the circle, make the corresponding complaints, and receive the available psychological support.

Healthy Care
We work with 20 women in these facilities, focusing on the comprehensive development of children. The main questions revolve around the expected development of children for each age in terms of physical, cognitive, and psychosocial development. To attend this, we have a professional team that can identify and monitor particular cases in addition to designing strategies for group and individual stimulation.

Hello and thank you for your support! 

2022 was a year of hard work. We are happy to have accomplished,

1. We were able to work with 120 women and their 135 children between 0 and 5 years old from a vulnerable context neighborhood "Villa 21-24" of Barracas.
2. We conducted initial and final interviews with 100% of the participants to get to know them better and their personal processes throughout this year. 
3. We execute four social programs to respond to the different needs of the participants:

• Parenting Circle: We work with mothers - from the gestating stage up to one-year-old children - on promoting comprehensive health for the mother and the children.It is a critical stage to prevent infant and maternal mortality and promote a safe bond between mother and child.
• "Cuidados y Alimentación Saludable" (Healthy eating): We focus on preventing malnutrition. We apply a proven method that works with a multi-disciplinary team that approaches different aspects of child development: Social workers, nutritionists, educational psychologists, ETC. 
• "FortaleSiendo" (strengthen/being): We work with women and children that have suffered from gender-based violence. We create support networks and promote healthy ties. 
• "Jugar es Cuidar" (Safe Play): We focus on developing safe bonds through recreational spaces between children and their caring adults. Due to the high demands in the Community Health Centers, we made an alliance in which, from this program, we could attend to families on the waiting list for the attention of cases related to pediatrics, speech therapy, and psychopedagogy.

Also, we facilitate some workshops open to everyone in the community, such as: “Complementary Baby Feeding”, “Raising and Nutrition”, “Construction of limits in Early Childhood” and “Couples and Parenting”.
