By Joyce Manchester | Project Leader, The Safer World Fund
The Safer World Fund is thrilled to announce a new matching campaign beginning today, September 11th. It celebrates our 10th year of supporting education, training, and health care in Afghanistan and Pakistan–especially for girls and women. We have adopted new matching rules to incentivize new donors, so please share this announcement with your friends!
We have added three new nonprofits to the list of organizations eligible for SWF matching funds. The new nonprofits include groups that support women’s role in rural development, vocational training for girls ages 18-24, and equitable access for all to quality education in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
The organizations we have selected do amazing things with not much funding. For example, $65 will help one woman learn to read and write in a literacy class, $130 will train one teacher for placement in a community-based school, and $450 will pay one month’s salary and expenses for a computer center instructor. Every mom who learns to read and write will make better decisions for her family, and every girl who has the chance to go to school will think differently about her future. Please talk with your family and friends about the Safer World Fund and the opportunity to make a difference.
