Empower, educate, and protect young Thai mothers

Recently, some mothers staying at The Light Center have had the opportunity to learn baking skills through an ongoing program offered by one of our dedicated local community partners. This initiative not only provides valuable baking techniques that can make them employable at local businesses, but it also focuses on teaching essential life skills such as responsibility, time management, and teamwork. Furthermore, it offers these mothers a chance to build supportive and meaningful relationships with others in the community, creating a network of encouragement and mutual support while they stay at The Light Center. We are deeply grateful for the collaborative efforts of our partners, all working together to create lasting and positive change in Thailand.

The life of a single mother is challenging in many ways. Finding sustainable employment while also providing quality care to your child can often seem like an insurmountable task. Sometimes, the mothers The Light Center supports don't have a family support system around them. Either they find an employer that allows them to bring their baby to work or they find a job they can do from home. This year, The Light Center is working on creating a crafting course to train mothers in need of sustainable employment. The skills they learn will either allow them to start their own business from home or give them the skills to find better employment opportunities. In addition to the skills they learn, we will also be partnering with a local Thai organization that can help them access both domestic and international markets for their products. Thank you for partnering with The Light Center to empower, educate, and protect young Thai mothers!
