At the moment, Jay and Butsaba have a newborn baby and Heather is in the US visiting supporters, so we don't have any foster children currently. In September, we will all begin the process of renewing our foster care licensing with the Thai government.
However, we coordiinated with 3 other organizations to provide a foster family for a young girl who was trafficked into Thailand from another country. She has been living in a shelter for victims, but now that her case is complete, she is ready to move in with a family. She is almost 17 years old, but due to her trauma, she's only about 14 years old emotionally. We were able to find a single woman who has been interested in foster care for some time to be her foster mother. This transition from shelter to foster home will happen in July, and all involved participants are very excited to make this happen. We will provide ongoing counseling for the foster daughter and our partners will provide financial assistance for her food. We look forward to supporting this new foster family!
