Habari!
Bringing you news from Kenya and hoping that you are all well and enjoying a somewhat less restrictive summer season.
Covid-19 has not had such a catastrophic impact as was feared. As of July 21, a total of 1,648,869 vaccines had been administered across the country. Of these total first doses were 1,042,455 while second doses were 606,414. The proportion of fully vaccinated adults in the country was reported at 2.2 per cent, according to the Health Ministry. President Uhuru Kenyatta has assured that by December 2021, 10 million adults will have been vaccinated against COVID-19. We are optimistic.
Our teaching programme is going from strength to strength due to a collaboration with, Mr Kamau and Mr Karanja who have provided many days of training, and who continuously support and monitor teacher’s progress. There is a significant academic improvement for Classes 5 and 6. At the end of term 3 exam results are collated for the zonal schools league table. Our class 5 went from 4th place in Term 2 to second place at the end of term 3. Class 6 made a move from being in 8th position to now being 6th out of the ten schools. A good result which shows that the programme is effective. We are very grateful to both Mr Kamau and Mr Karanja for their support.
A new Head teacher was appointed to oversee the school. She will support our Manager, Job with administrations and will also head up the training programme, manage and appraise teachers and bring together the team. Welcome Esther Muthoni!
We are looking forward to reopening this week for the start of our new school year. We are positive that this coming year will see rises in academic performance due to the programme we have in place.
Without you and your support this would not be possible. Therefore I take this opportunity to say a big THANK YOU to you all for your generosity.
