Dear Supporters,
We would like to express our gratitude for the continued support we receive from all of you. Your contributions enable us to train more teachers and inspire a love for reading among Indonesian children.
Update of Sabu, Kupang and Kalimantan
One of our dreams this year was to initiate a project in Sabu, a region in NTT facing significant educational challenges (we wrote about this in our previous update). Unfortunately, we have not yet met the specific funding goals for this project, so we cannot proceed at this time. However, we are grateful for the connections we have made with the local governments and remain hopeful that we will be able to start a project in Sabu in the coming years.
We are also pleased to report new opportunities in other locations. In the Kupang area (also in NTT) and on the large island of Kalimantan, we have established new partnerships. These collaborations enable us to train over 40 teachers and introduce our materials to many children for the first time.
Training in Malang
Another highlight we would love to share with you is our recent training in Malang (Java). Thanks to various donations, we had the opportunity to train 16 dedicated teachers there. It was a mixed group and some of these teachers work with street children and some of them work in remote villages across Indonesia. Both different contexts, but with the same need! It is encouraging for our team to see our materials being used in such places, where the need is so great.
Expanding Our Network
Once again, we are really grateful for your support of the Saya Suka Membaca projects. But we would like to ask you to consider who else might be interested in supporting literacy in Indonesia and the work we are doing at Saya Suka Membaca. We would love to connect with new individuals or organisations who could support our efforts and help us expand the reach of our training and projects.
Ayo! Suka Membaca!
Salam Literasi,
