Here in Ecuador, the April 22 Earth Day is during vacation, so we kick off the school year celebrating World Environment Day on June 5th. This year we had a fantastic program at school! Each class prepared a performance or presentation to promote environmental topics such as planting trees, avoiding plastic, and recycling. The kids had a great time and learned a lot.
Maintaining an active Environmental Education program is one our missions at James Dean Byrd Foundation. In addition to this important event, we make taking care of our planet and learning about how to do so part of our routine. Students are responsible for caring for our gardens at school. We are also pleased to announce that professor Bruno accepted a position in local government to bring Environmental Education to students all over the county. We are excited to join him in his activities in the greater community this year.
Please consider a donation to keep this program going! Our hands-on activites require materials and with the right funding we can bring workshops and other professionals to make taking care of the environment fun and interesting. Follow us on Facebook to stay up to date on our activities at school. Thank you for your continued support!
