I hope this message finds you well. As we navigate the ever-evolving landscape of humanitarian aid, it is crucial to adapt and innovate to meet the changing needs of those we serve. With this spirit of evolution and heartfelt appreciation for your unwavering support, we announce a significant transition in our efforts to assist vulnerable families in Taiwan.
Throughout 2023, thanks to your generous contributions, the “Help Taiwan Vulnerable Families Facing Emergency” project has been a source of strength for those in dire need. We successfully processed 179 emergency relief fund applications, disbursing a total of NT$2,025,000 (approx US$63,141) to families grappling with major life incidents, medical needs, funeral expenses, and natural disasters. The majority of these families were from low to middle-income households, underscoring the critical nature of your support.
As we strive for greater impact and efficiency, we are excited to inform you that this project will be integrated into our broader initiative, “Ending Hunger | A Community Giving Network.” This strategic consolidation aims to amplify our reach and enhance the support we provide to families across Taiwan, not only in times of emergency but also in fostering long-term resilience and well-being.
The new, unified initiative will continue to embody the core mission of providing emergency relief, now complemented by a comprehensive suite of services including nutritional support, access to essential goods, and fostering community empowerment. This holistic approach is designed to address the interconnected challenges of poverty, hunger, and health, ensuring that our assistance is as impactful as possible.
