The Hunger-Free Education Program

The Hunger-Free Education Program at Tarkwa Breman Girls' School, supported by Cocoa360, is more than just a meal - it's a lifeline for students in rural cocoa communities who are often faced with poverty, deprivation, and limited amenities. For many of these children, the hot lunch they receive every day is the only nutritious meal they will have all day, and without it, they would struggle to stay focused in class and keep up with their studies.

But thanks to the generosity of Cocoa360 and its partners, these students can come to school each day with the confidence that they will have a warm, nourishing meal waiting for them. The impact of this program extends far beyond the classroom, as it helps to break the cycle of poverty and malnutrition that has plagued these communities for generations.

As the aroma of freshly prepared food wafts through the school, students eagerly line up to receive their lunch, grateful for the support of their community and the commitment of organizations like Cocoa360 to their education and well-being. This program is more than just a meal - it's a symbol of hope and a beacon of light in the midst of darkness, showing these students that they are valued, loved, and deserving of a brighter future.

Tarkwa Breman Girls’ School (TBGS) is a tuition-free primary school serving 8 rural cocoa farming communities where parents volunteer their labor on our TBCE cocoa farm in exchange for access to quality education for their daughters. TBGS has 300 students enrolled in 6-grade levels, with a new class of 30 girls enrolled each year.

However, the cost barrier to education goes beyond tuition. With your partnership, we continue to bring quality education and healthcare to the 8 communities we serve including Tarkwa Breman as we expand the number of students we reach each year.

The donation of $12 from this campaign goes directly into augmenting the efforts of the Parents Teachers Association (PTA) in providing hot meals for our girls each day at school.
