Continuing with our objective of rehabilitating patients with severe burn sequelae, we carried out the Surgical Campaign in the beautiful city of Cusco, the team was made up of 5 plastic surgeons, as well as nurses, anesthesiologists, and rehabilitation therapists. More than 50 complex patients were evaluated, 70 surgical procedures were provided to 33 patients with severe burn sequelae, who must continue with the intensive rehabilitation process in Lima, Arequipa or Cusco.
We are completely happy that we have benefited 15 boys and 18 girls from the southern macro region (Cusco, Apurimac, Cerro de Pasco, Abancay, Madre de Dios, Arequipa, Lima, Puerto Maldonado).
It is worth mentioning that many burn patients will require more surgeries throughout their lives to improve their physical and functional appearance.
That is why next month we are organizing the second surgical campaign to be carried out in the city of Chiclayo.
