OLI Report: November 2021

By Michael C. Lisman | Board President

Through November 2021, OLI has been busy expanding the support base for its operations and reaching out to new potential partners and board members.

In the fall, OLI began ramping up its 2021-2022 capital campaign and is excited to reach new heights in service of CNBGuatemala.org and potential new users in other countries. Part of our inspiration for aiming to provide curriculum aligned pedagogical materials to teachers in other LAC countries is the fact that during the height of the pandemic, google analytics revealed to us that nearly 30% of CNBGuatemala.org's usership was coming from countries outside of Guatemala - including Mexico, Honduras, and El Salvador!

The OLI Research Fellow team, led by board member Dr. Matthew Aruch, has completed work on an advanced draft of a book chapter for an upcoming book on teacher support innovations in the LAC region that highlights the case study of CNBGuatemala.org -- more to come on this chapter and the publication of the book.

The OLI board of directors has just completed a recruitment phase which we hope will result in the expansion of the OLI board of directors, with board elections coming in less than one month. We look forward to introducing and highlighting the new board members on the OLI website soon.

The past quarter also saw the development of the OLI Advisory Committee, a less formal collection of education and industry experts that will help chart the course of OLI's current and future projects. Advisory Committee members include: Dr. Ariel Fiszbein (Argentine / American), Juliana Guaqueta (Colombia), Ana Florez (Colombian / American), and Horacio Alvarez (Guatemala).

If you have suggestions for new board members of advisory committee members, or would like us to reach out to potential donors, please be in touch and let us know!
