Dear friends of Libros,
We wanted to take a moment to update you on our ongoing efforts to improve the lives of children in marginalized communities.
Our dedicated team of volunteers is currently tutoring children in two communities and facilitating two Big Reads. We are excited to share that hundreds of children are actively reading and eagerly anticipating the opportunity to meet the author this Spring. Additionally, we've launched a book club for at-risk youth in Dolores Hidalgo, hosted our dear friend Craig Rubano from Monmouth, New Jersey, and sent 10 students to the San Miguel Writers Conference to meet esteemed author Jorge Hernandez.
Your support means the world to us. In these times of political upheaval in the U.S., we are reminded of the crucial role we play in teaching the next generation essential skills—critical thinking, empathy, and creative problem-solving. While the challenges may feel daunting, we are committed to making progress each day.
Thank you for being an invaluable part of our team.
Warm regards,
Daniela Franco
