The project aims to support the schooling of 300 children in rural Haiti for one year. It is intended to provide appropriate responses to identified educational problems. It provides pupils with adequate teaching materials, a health check-up for each pupil, a hot meal per school day, school uniforms and a pair of shoes per year. Finally, it aims to provide ongoing training for teachers, while encouraging academic excellence for all children.
The problem addressed is the lack of access to quality education in rural areas. This state of things retards the cognitive and social development of children in rural schools. It is essentially characterized by a lack of basic educational equipment. Family poverty, inadequate school materials and poorly trained teachers all contribute to children dropping out of school early, even before acquiring basic numeracy and literacy skills. This is likely to affect the development future of children.
Making access the teaching-learning process for children in rural schools. To this end, a project has been designed to educate and support children and their learning environment. Priority is given to basic primary education, just as the construction of a house focuses on its foundation. Similarly, the focus on basic skills and life skills will enable these children to meet the challenges of later life. This motion resolution is the result of joint analyses carried out by community stakeholders
The children have finished elementary school and are ready for secondary and/or vocational education. Thanks to the skills clubs, the children are now armed with life skills. They are able to launch their own social and financial enterprises. Those who did not follow a formal school program in a classroom had followed a non-formal club program and are able to launch their own social enterprises too.
